The Pheasant's Nest


Located 40 minutes from Napier and Hastings.
The Pheasant's Nest is nestled above the Tutaekuri River, offering expansive views of Mt. Cameron and the Kaweka Ranges. 
The studio features a stylish and restful décor, complete with a king bed, an ensuite bathroom, and a kitchen equipped with all the essentials. Amenities include air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, and a T.V. 
Open the large ranch slider to a generous deck with a hot tub, perfect for watching the sunrise or stargazing.
With its serene country atmosphere, The Pheasant's Nest is a place to connect with nature. Keep an eye out for tui, fantails, kereru, morepork, pheasants, and hawks, often spotted nearby. Unwind and leave feeling refreshed and recharged. 

 What's included 



Your stay includes a continental breakfast featuring juice, milk, yogurt, spreads, homemade granola and tea and coffee. You also have the option to prepare a cooked breakfast with croissants, herbs and fresh eggs.

Pantry essentials: salt, pepper, oil, dressing, herbs, herbal teas, and hot chocolate.

Body wash, shampoo and conditioner, linen and towels.


Eating and drinking


The kitchen has a double gas-burner wall oven and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. There is a 125L fridge with a small internal freezer.

You'll find all the cutlery, crockery, pots, and pans that you'll need. If you don't plan on heading out during your stay, make sure to stock up on food and supplies. The nearest stores are located in Hastings and Taradale, which are both a 40 minutes away.

Things to do

The Pheasant's Nest is all about relaxing and taking a moment to slow down and unwind. Eat, sleep and soak in the tub, while soaking up the views.

Being located right above the River comes with fantastic perks. a 10-minute walk down.  You can enjoy a lovely riverside picnic or walk, soaking in the serene surroundings, or take a refreshing swim on a hot summer’s day. It’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and connect with nature.

Spend the afternoon playing a selection of lawn games, or unwind indoors with board games, cards or curl up on the couch with a book or movie.

Feel like heading out for a bit of an adventure? 

Head up Te Mata Peak, enjoy a coffee at Peak House, then head down to Craggy Range winery for a wine and take in the view of Te Mata Peak.

 Hire or bring your bikes and check out Hawke's Bay's limestone bike tracks, which are a great way to explore the bay.

Check out the hasting farmers' market on Sunday mornings, a great place to grab some fresh local produce
